For the past several weeks, I have been working on my website, I have been wanting to revamp it for a while. I had it set up in WordPress but it was overly complex. I also wanted to really change things up. As I researched, I stumbled across Hugo.
According to the Hugo:
Hugo is one of the most popular open-source static site generators. With its amazing speed and flexibility, Hugo makes building websites fun again.
It is a framework built with Golang. Based on my experience, it is blazing fast. I have also found it easier to use then Jekyll, another popular static site generator.
According to SitePoint, a SSG is
An SSG is a compromise between using a hand-coded static site and a full CMS, while retaining the benefits of both. In essence, you generate a static HTML-only website using CMS-like concepts such as templates. The content can be extracted from a database but, more typically, Markdown files are used.
